WORLD BANK GROUP ISSUED CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION PRESENTED TO MR. AVIJIT BARUA IN APPRECIATION OF HIS CONTRIBUTION TO “DOING BUSINESS 2020″.
WORLD BANK GROUP Thanks Avijit Barua, Managing Director AB Geotech Maritime Ltd for being part of the global community of experts who have shared their knowledge for the annual Doing Business report over the past 19 years. WORLD BANK GROUP Thanks to Avijit Barua for unique expertise, the World Bank Group was able to assess the reality of entrepreneurial life in economy. The Doing Business report encouraged governments to enact more efficient regulation and the data served as a resource for academics, journalists, private sector researchers and others interested in the business climate of each economy.
Regrettably, WORLD BANK GROUP are writing to Avijit Barua, Managing Director AB Geotech Maritime Ltd to share that the Doing Business project is coming to a close. Doing Business team members stood up for data integrity by reporting undue pressure by World Bank Group management to manipulate data during the DB18 and DB20 production process. In 2020, World Bank Group management initiated a series of reviews and audits of the report and its methodology. After reviewing all the information available to date on Doing Business, World Bank Group management has taken the decision to discontinue the Doing Business report. The World Bank Group remains firmly committed to advancing the role of the private sector in development and providing support to governments to design the regulatory environment that supports this. Going forward, the World Bank Group will be working on a new approach to assessing the business and investment climate.
In the coming days, WORLD BANK GROUP forward to emailing Avijit Barua, Managing Director AB Geotech Maritime Ltd a Certificate of Appreciation from the World Bank Group. Given the discontinuation of the report, WORLD BANK GROUP are sorry that WORLD BANK GROUP cannot update the Doing Business website to reflect Avijit Barua, Managing Director AB Geotech Maritime Ltd contributions.
